WhatsApp introducing new features for enhanced communication

WhatsApp, the popular messaging network, is introducing new user-centric features in its program, according to WABetaInfo. The chat platform is currently working on audio conversations, one-time playable audio messages, and 60-second video messages in its latest update.

WhatsApp Audio Chats

In the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.7.12, a new audio chat feature was discovered by WABetaInfo. A “wave shape” indicator is present within the group chat interface, and when clicked, two options appear: “Open audio chat” and “Call group.” The functionality is currently being developed and will be available to the general public after beta testing.

View-once Audio Messages

Another feature that will be introduced in a future release is one-time playable audio messages. This media extension will function similarly to photographs and movies, with the message being viewable only once. The WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.7.8 upgrade will provide this capability. To increase privacy for sensitive data, audio chats will not have save, forward, or record capabilities.

WhatsApp Video Messages

The company is also working on video messaging features for the corporate edition of WhatsApp for iOS. The feature allows users to send up to 60-second recordings using the camera icon. According to WABetaInfo, storing or forwarding the video message, except for snapshots, will not be possible. The feature is expected to be available to a wider audience in a future update.

Overall, WhatsApp’s user-centric approach continues to drive the platform’s success. Users can keep up with the latest upgrades and recommendations through the platform’s official chat account. Additionally, the Meta-owned platform recently released an updated desktop app.
